Established in 2017, this all-male four-piece has no ambitions to reinvent rock music. They follow a decades-old tried and tested formula: one guitarist (Joe O’Brien), one drummer (Jamie Todd), one bass player (Lee Holland) and one singer (Jonny Yerrell), all born and bred in South Yorkshire and into a tradition of rock music. It’s surprising that their music hasn’t already been exported out of Brexitland, but logically that’s going to change very soon. In any case, back home they’ve already harvested the fruits of their labour: their second album What’s Rock and Roll?, went straight to the top of the British charts when it was released last January. A well-deserved reward for this courageous self-produced album that efficiently delivers political observations.
