Yet another gem from the Matador label, Snail Mail is the project of young American twentysomething Lindsey Jordan. This guitarist and singer-songwriter from Maryland was just 15 years old when she first performed on stage using this charmingly old school name to designate sending letters by regular mail instead of by e-mail, messages that take a few days to arrive instead of arriving with the click of a button. Let’s follow the example of this indie rock fan and take our time to really get to know her music (there’s two albums to discover, 2018’s Lush and 2021’s Valentine), on first listen it’s introspective and yet unifying, with an underlying sincerity that’s deeply moving.
