Nieve Ella still has the refreshing immediacy of her TikTok days, far from the unreachable pop stars of today. This Brit moved up a level when she signed to AWAL (becoming label-mates with Little Simz, Jungle, and Girl In Red). Her first single, released last summer, was followed by an EP at the beginning of 2023 called Young & Naive, a collection of five indie pop songs of her own creation, with lyrics that reflect the questioning of a young adult (“Feeling like I’m grown, but I’m still in the backseat” goes the chorus of 19 in a Week). She takes inspiration from artists like Sam Fender and Phoebe Bridgers, both very much references for her age group (she’s 20 years old) and the musicians that accompany her on stage are some of her best friends. This is one name you’re not going to want to forget!
