MARGUERITE THIAM

More than one fairy leaned over Marguerite Thiam’s crib when they were handing out talent. She started out as an actor (in film as well as in the French Netflix series The 7 Lives of Lea), and as a filmmaker (for example, short film Les Primates, a video for Gaël Faye). Aged just 22, she’s launched her music project where she will finally be able to tell her own story, without playing a role. Working with her brother on production, this young woman is an admirer of Alex Beaupain, Benjamin Biolay, but also French rap and every type of electro-pop. She writes highly autobiographical songs that she sings with an eloquent flow you can hear on the likes of Comme les grands and Plus rien n’est grave.
