Hiding behind the simian name Bonobo is Simon Green, originally from Brighton but now exiled in Los Angeles. DJ, producer and musician, this fortysomething has chosen the most peaceful expression of electro music, somewhere between ambient, electronica and trip hop. He calmly constructs music that’s perfect for chilling, cocooning you in its ambience, while also venturing into world music and nu jazz. To bring his sample-based music to life he enjoys collaborating with outside vocal artists, for example Kadhja Bonet, Rhye and the fabulous Erykah Badu. You can also experience his love of collaborations during his live performances, where he surrounds himself with a plethora of musicians rather than produce music alone with just his machines.
