Born in San Francisco at the end of the 80s and raised in Arizona, Avalon Emerson shares a distinct taste for music with her parents. At 19 she was composing her own electro music and performing DJ sets by night while working as a software developer by day. She successfully gave up her day job and moved to Berlin in 2014, amplifying her sonic obsession and gaining the ultimate endorsement when she performed at Berlin’s legendary Berghain club. Pitchfork compared her new album to Marie Davidson, The Cocteau Twins and Saint Etienne. There’s no doubt that the alchemy between melodic electro-pop and evanescent dream-pop will win over the crowd during her performances this summer.
